IMPORTANT: The driver and firmware update in the Resolution is required for network stability as detailed below. Neglecting to use specific driver and firmware versions shown in the Resolution section could leave the network in an unstable condition, which could potentially result in network disconnects and other unexpected results. By disregarding this notification, the customer accepts the risk of incurring potential network disconnects and other unexpected results.

Network disconnects may occur on an HP ProLiant server configured with an HP NC552m 10Gb 2-port Flex-10 Ethernet Adapter, HP NC552SFP 10Gb 2-port Server Adapter, or HP NC550SFP Dual Port 10GbE Server Adapter, if specific OneConnect Manager (OCM) driver and firmware versions are not installed.

SCOPE

Any HP ProLiant BL465c G7, HP ProLiant BL685c G7, HP ProLiant BL460c G7, HP ProLiant BL490c G7, HP ProLiant BL620c G7, or HP ProLiant BL680c G7 server blade, or any HP ProLiant server configured with the HP NC552m 10Gb 2-port Flex-10 Ethernet Adapter, HP NC550SFP Dual Port 10GbE Server Adapter running OneConnect Manager.

RESOLUTION

To ensure network stability, update the driver to Version 4.x (or later) and the firmware to Version 4.0.360.15 (or later) as follows:For the firmware update, perform the following:

  1. Click on the following URL:

    http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html?pageDisplay=drivers

  2. Enter the server or network adapter (for example, BL680c G7 or NC552m) in the "for product" field and click Search .
  3. Select the appropriate operating system.
  4. Click Firmware - Network.
  5. Select the Download button next to the description, Firmware image for offline update
    NC550m, NC551i, NC551i, NC550SFP, CN1000E, NC552m, NC553i, NC553m, NC552SFP,
    and CN1100E and select a Version 4.0.360.15 (or later).

For the driver update, perform the following:

  1. Click on the following URL:

    http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html?pageDisplay=drivers

  2. Enter the server or network adapter (for example, BL680c G7 or NC552m) in the "for product" field and click Search .
  3. Select the appropriate operating system.
  4. Click Driver - Network.
  5. Select the Download button next to the description, HP Emulex 10GbE Driver and select a Version 4.x (or later) .

Follow the instructions located under the Installation Instructions tab to install the driver and firmware.
